New Certificate IV in Real Estate practice (Buyer's Agent) for NSW

We have proudly delivered licenced courses to thousands of agents across Australia, including the Certificate IV in Real Estate Practice. This course is a vital piece of developing knowledge and understanding of the ever-changing landscape of the Real Estate industry.
That is why Under The Hammer is excited to announce that as of 2026 the NSW Certificate IV in Real Estate Practice is available with a dedicated emphasis on Buyer’s Agents. This version of the course continues to include the five core units and 10 electives that focus on the broad scope of skills needed to work in residential sales and property management. However, we have replaced the three Auction units to instead include three units on representing buyers (CPPREP4171), developing industry knowledge as a buyer’s agent (CPPREP4172) and completing the purchase of a property on behalf of a buyer (CPPREP4173). The vision and purpose behind this new course comes in light of the steep increase in interest in working as a buyer’s agent as time-poor prospective buyers turn to industry experts for guidance in the buying process.
Purchasing a house is one of the most significant decisions someone can make in their life – and it can be an overwhelming process for those with little to no practice. Buyer’s Agents are experienced negotiators with knowledge of the industry from both the side of the buyer and agent. As they regularly specialise in certain areas, they give prospective buyers assistance in finding the best properties to suit their unique needs.
This part of the industry is perfect for those who wish to establish deep, trusting relationships with clients. You will research suburbs, identify areas of growth, analyse recent sales and understand school catchment areas, community features and more. As you will be working directly with buyers and purchasing on their behalf, you will also have the opportunity to build a broad network of selling agents, auctioneers and clients.
