The NSW Office of Fair Trading has again updated their requirements for Class 1 and 2 Real Estate Agents this CPD year.

In early July, the OFT announced key changes to requirements for the 2025/2026 year. These changes predominantly comprised of new topics, including one on Residential Tenancy Reforms (RTR) that was mandatory to deliver face-to-face in a classroom setting. A significant aspect of this new RTR topic was that training providers such as Under The Hammer were required to seek additional approval from Fair Trading to be able to deliver it. Under The Hammer is proud to be one of the few Registered Training Organisations approved to deliver this topic, and we have loved visiting venues across NSW to meet with clients face to face and engage in dynamic training.

In mid-September, Fair Trading indicated that they had performed a review of their requirements and made an amendment to allow the RTR to be delivered over virtual interactive webinar. Under The Hammer again sought approval, and we are proud to confirm that we have once again been chosen as one of the few training organisations in NSW approved to deliver this course content. This means that going forward, all CPD units for Residential Salespeople, Buyers Agents and Property Managers can be completed either face-to-face or via virtual webinar. We welcome this update from Fair Trading, as we believe it empowers agents in regional NSW as well as interstate to meaningfully engage with their continuing professional development and allows greater flexibility for all residential agents to maintain regulatory compliance. 

Going forward, residential agents will have two options to complete their training with Under The Hammer.

1. A full day of training face-to-face at a Venue across Sydney. This option allows you to complete all of your classroom CPD in one go, while having the opportunity to meet other agents and our industry leading trainers.

   
   

2. Split your training in two and complete your topics over virtual interactive webinar from the comfort of your home or office. This flexible option allows you to meet your requirements without giving up a full day.

Please note that this CPD year, Class 1 agents are required to attend an Office of Fair Trading sponsored accredited event. This requirement is in addition to the above mentioned classroom component. Under the Hammer is in the process of seeking approval to deliver this additional component.
